National News, where her coverage of breaking
national and international stories won her
recognition and exposure across the country. While
with Azteca, Torres also oversaw weekly reports on
the heated immigration issue. She later worked as
the evening head anchor for “Calles al Desnudo,” a
live daily news and entertainment program.
Currently, Torres combines her duties as anchor for
Hispanics Today with those of being a field producer
and a director of Hispanic Media Relations. She
coordinates and produces helpful relationships with
both English and Spanish media, as well as produces
video news releases for national and international
exposure. Torres has been the face of Hispanics
Today and has made the program more recognized
around the country. In 2006, she was invited to
emcee the 16th annual United States Hispanic Chamber
of Commerce Legislative Conference Awards in
Washington, D.C. and the 13th Annual Hispanic
Scholarship Awards Gala.
A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Torres spent her youth
splitting time between the U.S. and Colombia. She
divided her high school and college time between
Colombia and the Virginia/Maryland area. She holds a
B.A. in Mass Communications from Shepherd University. |
